FFP stipulates that clubs mustn't lose more than 15m over 3 years (excluding any dosh put in by Owners) I believe we lats 2 years we lost £4m then £15m, so this year we have to turn that 15m loss into a 4m profit. That means we have to find £19m, excluding any further increases in overheads. By the end of the transfer window it seemed possible that we had possibly £7m to buy Kent and pay his wages. That comes out to around £26m.
These figures of course include some guess work on my part, will need to wait until the accounts are released to know more. What it tells you is that even massive clubs like Leeds can't make a profit in the Championship without substantial sales or investment from Owner. -----Original Message----- From: Leedslist <[email protected]> On Behalf Of Richard Walker via Leedslist Sent: 09 August 2019 16:45 To: [email protected]; Roger Goodair <[email protected]> Subject: Re: [LU] The tale of the two list Richard's Not sure about that. I am incredibly optimistic about the upcoming season especially after Bristol. Saturday will tell us a bit more. However, I really think we could be struggling if we get anything like the injuries we had last year or White turns out to be pale imitation of Pontus. I know it's a Friday night and we're all going to the pub but could someone post details of the article regarding FFP or summarise how we can sell 28 million pounds of players and not spend a penny and be in and danger of not adhering to the FFP rules. Sounds ridiculous to me even with Kiko on £35k per week. If the wages total for the 32 professionals was 1 million per week (unlikely) then transfers themselves would pay for 75% of the season and that's not including gate receipts, sponsorship etc or is that not how it works ?
