As you know, Philips being the first name on the team sheet really pisses me
off. Yes, he's improved and he has qualities for certain matches and certain
periods within matches that at this level are required. However, I still think
that he's a mid table, championship footballer and building a team around him
strolling around the park and taking every set piece is just short sighted. His
performance against Cardiff summed this up perfectly. His set pieces were poor
and he struggled to make an impact on the game. His only real contribution was
giving the ball away with a lazy pass for their goal.
