It is so great anticipating the season in such a relaxed frame of mind. Last year, we all knew we absolutely HAD to finish in the top 2. Anything else, after the disaster of the season before, would surely have led to a total implosion; there would have been no 3rd chance. That made EVERY game crucial. Every dropped point and last-minute equaliser conceded was a potential disaster (if only we could have known we would end up winning the thing by 10 pts...........but we didn't!)
This season, we don't have to finish in the top 2 but the top 18........which means that, at least for the first few weeks, no particular game is going to be particularly crucial.
