I will not read anything into today's game- we are up against the team that
absolutely walked the league last season and has a phenomenal home record, it
will be the likes of Fulham next week that define our season
I hope fans have realistic expectations - though looking at Twitter etc where
fans expect us to qualify for Europe!- this may be a forlorn hope. We need to
stay up, nothing more and build on it. We need the fans to stay behind the team
even after any awful result. We have waited a long time for this so let's
enjoy it, come what may and "keep the faith"

For 10 years we gauged Leeds players at championship level, and I really have
no idea how that equates to how they might perform in the Premier League. Will
know Bielsa will get the best out of what he has got, but will that be enough?
In this league, we kind of know which teams are going to be the hardest, which
teams will be comfortable but not near the top, and most of us could pick the
same 7 or 8 who will be fighting to stay up. All Leeds have to do is finish

I have to say I’m worried about the squad in terms of numbers and quality, but
we don’t want to destroy what the squad already has like Fulham did 2 years ago.
Defence:
Is Meslier ready?
IMO we were a Centre-Back short in the squad last year and have lost Berardi
and White to gain Koch. Not sure Struijk or Casey are ready to step up to make
a meaningful contribution if required.
Are any of the left back options good enough? (Nightmares v Mo Salah today!)
Midfield:
Forshaw’s continued absence, means that Struijk is essentially Phillips’ deputy
to start with, but hopefully a full season from Shackleton will help.
Attacking midfield:
Need to see the best of Alioski, Costa, Harrison regularly and someone to take
some of the strain off Pablo.
Strikers:
Rodrigo will help as we need 12 league goals IMO out of our main striker, not
sure Bamford would provide that, with less opportunities and games in this
league.
The match day squad today essentially picks itself, with not much in reserve.
I expect 4-1-4-1, but he might surprise us and go for is 3-3-3-1. Liverpool’s 2
advanced wingers and deep lying C.Foward is not something Leeds encountered in
the Championship.
