Having watched the game a couple of times now, I wonder how many other managers will now be thinking ‘how can we overload Liverpool’s defence like that?’. I’d have had Van Dijk down as one of the Prem’s best defenders, but after that performance, I’m not so sure - he doesn’t like it up him Capt Mannering!
As I’ve just quipped to a Liverpool wise-ass, they’re just an expensive Sheffield United, scoring from dead-balls and penalties :-) I much prefer to see goals from open play - as I told him, we might have lost, but we won! Klich’s goal in particular was a gem. Bielsa - I’ve watched a few times, and he didn’t look like he fancied spending any more time than he had to with Klopp. Of course Bielsa might be of the view that there’s a virus out there, and wants to stay safe, but he definitely exuded a ‘yeah, whatever’ body language. He also looked bloody angry! There were the same tired mantras re ‘can they keep it up all season?’, but we know the answer to that, and in a smaller league and 2 players per position we’ll be fine. I expect a very different team against ‘Ull tomorrow - it’ll be interesting to see if Rodrigo plays? Normally I wouldn’t be too bothered about getting knocked out, but not against Hull! Fulham on Satdi will be a test - they know what to expect, and were a bit of a bogey team, but we need the points. Isn’t it strange how a defeat has put us all at ease?
