And when you look at what happened to our friends over the Pennines this afternoon, all is good. My God, scum were bad, although Tottingham were lethal up front. Note that when we play them Lamela is an utter pansy - he got Martial sent off!
Anyway, never mind that, yesterday was great. Nick is absolutely right about our spirit - after a torrid first 20 minutes, we got into it, created some good chances, started to play our game, Bielsa’s substitutions were spot on, Poveda tormented them, Rodrigo is clearly right up for it, very quick, and his goal will have done him no harm. We did have some players off-the-pace - Roberts was a bit part player, Costa seemed determined to ensure the laundry would be kept busy by falling over time and again, and the number of times he ‘over-shot’ a tackle and ran straight past his man was bizarre! And of course there’s Cooper - there were always going to be players who would struggle in the Prem, and I have bad vibes re Cooper and his lack of pace. A good squad player, but I’d like to see Llorente soon to partner Koch. Klich seemed a bit invisible too, but often you don’t see his contribution - he just works hard. I liked the look of Davis last season, and remain impressed - if we can get a couple of da yoof in as regulars that would be great. And yes, Dallas - his contributions are immense, he can pop up anywhere, stopped a certain goal on the line, and is often the heartbeat of the team. Funny old world. Shame it’s another international break as the one thing Bielsa needs is time with his players. I watched a bit of the under 23s too - one bloke stood out, but then I realised it was Harrison having a run out :-) Greenwood looks sharp, and I’m sure he’ll feature this season. At the beginning of the season all I wanted to see was 3 teams worse than us - no worries :-) Sent from my iPad > On 4 Oct 2020, at 12:02, "[email protected]" <[email protected]> > wrote: > > I enjoyed that game.
