Was anybody else on the list at that match up at St. james's when we lost 5-2? It was the first game of Wilko's promotion season. Obviously, we bounced back from it, but it was a very disappointing day at the time.
So a 5-2 win now feels GOOD! Rodrigo was magnificent! There were 2 touches of his that were out-of-this-world: 1. The header which hit the bar for the first goal. At first sight I thought he was just lucky the way it looped over the keeper, but the more I watch it the more I think he somehow, in the midst of that crowded box and while watching the ball come in from the right, saw or sensed that Darlow was just a couple of steps off his line and he deliberately looped it over him. 2. Before he set up and then scored his goal brilliantly, he was stood under a high dropping ball with 2 defenders right on him. I think the best almost any other player could hope for in that situation would be to jump and try to win a header and direct it to a teammate. But Rodrigo somehow arched his back enough to control the ball on his chest AND knock it away from both the defenders into just enough space that he could then fire the ball out to Jackie H. After that chest control, 5 touches later the ball was in the back of the net. Another thing............what a classic Bielsa moment it was when there were THREE players waiting in a socially distanced queue to get on the end of Pablo's pass for the 4th goal, with nary a Newcastle shirt in sight! _______________________________________________ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: https://mailman.gn.apc.org/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email [email protected] Find us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/leedslist/ Dorigo's Right Buttock...
