Pretty sure everyone would have snapped hands off to be offered our
current position at the start of the season. Clearly lots to do, but bar
probably 3 or 4 games this season (I'm thinking Man U, Brighton, Palace
and maybe Wolves) it's been a thoroughly enjoyable ride. As you say
James, there are signs (Thankfully) that we're adapting at the back and
definitely the only way is up now.
The bottom 3 will probably be the same at the end of the season (Only
Fulham have half a chance I'd suggest) and I do think there are some
teams we can overhaul (Is it only me who still doesn't rate Villa? If
Grealish get injured, I think they're pedestrian!). Super impressed with
Raphinia, looks a great buy at that price in the modern marketplace.
There's a shopping list to be drawn up if we're to push on, I suspect
another £100M to project us anywhere close to the top 6; Left Back,
Centre Half, Ball playing midfielder and options up front are obvious.
But, for now, happy as a pig in shit, as we all probably are, after the
2003 to 2017 period for us. Think Everton are there for the taking
having watched them v Leicester at the weekend. On and ON!?
