We have a big problem and i don't think it had anything to do with the shuffling around of players. It is that opposing managers seem to have figured out a way to set up when we have the ball at the back which stops us from playing out. I think Newcastle did it in the 2nd half and Brighton did it..........and Arse did it yesterday. Since all we see on TV is a narrow view, it is impossible for us to say exactly what they are doing, but it is very effective. It might have something to do with the absence of Kalvin, I'm not sure.
Poor Meslier was getting completely razzled by his failure to get the ball to one of our players. It is hard to know whether it was more down to poor execution by him or players not making the moves they should............or simply Arse attacking his passes really well. (It was ironic b/c it was at highbury where we first saw him and were astonished by his cool distribution.) I'm sure every oppo manager now knows the blueprint, and I am equally sure that Bielsa will be working like mad to practice some way to get past this block. I think our second goal actually started from the back and we worked it downfield superbly. I don't know if that was us working things out or Arse just easing off at 4-1 up.
