Well another injury time goal, that saved the day and changed the mood. You have to give this side credit for going till the last minute but the feeling was that it should not have been needed and it was still 2 points dropped. There were also the first murmurings of discontent around Bielsa in a very subdued crowd for the most part. We knew Brentford would be the sort of time wasting , play acting, shit housing team that ruins the game, as soon as they made us kick towards the Revie stand first half ( traitor Pontus) Despite that we started ok and were miles the better team first half , and well worth the half time lead. Nice to see Roberts get the goal his recent efforts have deserved and glad to see him celebrate with the crowd with no ear cupping or other sarcastic gestures ( a la Chris wood) The slight disgruntlement came when Cooper went off injured - send on the impressive Cresswell we all thought, but no, after toying with the idea of Klich he sent on Harrison and moved players around. To be fair it worked but was an odd choice and brought some questioning of Bielsa One of the defining moments came just after half time, a good free kick, well headed by Ayling but the keeper made a great save , 2 0 and we win comfortably but it kept them in the match. Second defining moment was when KP went down injured, he was still hobbling when a deflected cross fell to their attacker who finished well. We subbed KP for klitch but were still adjusting when they missed an easy header, we failed to sort ourselves out and bang, from 1 up and coasting we were 1- 2 down. Their celebrations brought missiles from the NE corner- stupid and no real excuse but on the other hand what do you expect? Celebrate with your own fans dont poke us. We huffed and puffed but time was running out, Bamford came on to rapturous applause but hardly touched it. They wasted time over and over , twice a free kick on the edge of our box with no brentford player going to take it.So it served them right when 5 ( should have been 8) minutes was added on. Even more so when we had a corner in the 95th minute, Meslier after some hesitation went up for it, the ball was played to the far post and Bam , he poked it home. So 4pts gained in the last minute of the last 2 games. A largely forgettable game and the euphoria of the last minute goal somewhat tempered by the feeling of points lost One question for any would be referees. First half the ball hit James on the thigh and accidentally bounced up to his arm, play on, he passed to Robert's whose shit was tipped over for a corner, question: if Robert's shot had gone in, would the accidental hand ball suddenly become an infringement and had the goal disallowed?
