This was almost a replica of Cardiff,  we have all the ball, all the territory,
all the shots etc  but  are mainly ineffective and they score from their only
chance
Their goal , the lad broke through the middle / our left trailed by Gyabi who
just ran alongside him, had a shot which deflected off Hjelde and then with
Darlow getting a hand to it it went in off the post, a bit lucky for them . Our
first was just as fortunate,  a shot from Poveda was parried by the keeper and
hit Joffy and looped into the net. Joffy knew nothing about itOur winner was a
corner that was flicked on , possibly by a defender and fell to Struijk who
prodded home. We expected the flood gates to open but continued to be
profligate in front of goal , our old failing

The team was odd we had 2 keepers on the  bench,  a move by Farke to show how
we need more players / how injury hit we were.
We expected Shack to play right back , Ayling centre back and Ampadu in
midfield  but he was moved to CH with Shack in midfield and Ayling right back
Hjelde proved for the second time in a row that he is not a left back and was
again replaced  by Byram at half time.  More dissappointing was the fact that
Gyabi was also subbed after a poor half, i worry that he has got this far by
being the biggest and strongest/ most athletic growing up but is not that good
- i hope I'm wrong. Joffy, despite his goal was another who failed to take his
chance. There is a talent there but he is struggling to show it.
Gray was good again, Ampadu impressed both as centre half and then second half
back in midfield
Poveda was very lively but needs more end product.
Overall it was an ok performance and, the main thing , we are through
Although fairly quiet the crowd was a healthy 35,000 plus and made up of lots
of  " first timers / non regulars and kids which is good, much better than the
12,000 bored season ticket holders who used to go to these games.
The blue away kit is selling well and there were a number of the new Mr Blobby
third kit knocking about- all good for the bank balance
We certainly need new players and hopefully Rodon will be the first of quite a
few
