The problem is .............. which decent, or even half-decent, player is going to want to join us? It's all very well for us to all berate them for "not getting players in", but in the current financial state of football, it aint that easy. Just last week a goodish player chose Bourne-bloody-mouth over us, whilst I don't know if he actually had to choose but Hamer, an alleged target, went to Sheff-bloody-ield United. My hunch is that we agreed a fee for that Nat Phillips, but his agent said "hang on, let's see if I can't persuade some Premier League outfit to buy you." Lu-bloody-ton Town will probably be panicking enough after the next game or two that they will see him as a good prospect.
I think our only hope is to pick up a few goodish lads on loan at the end of Aug who are deemed surplus to PL requirements.
