I can't say that I disagree with what you say, but I think our hew owners would want to see a return on their investment and look to fund the planned ground improvements. That's not even considering that we are enjoying this league as we have the young talent to perform to our hopes and expectations; if we don't get promoted or at least very near as a springboard for the following year to get promoted, then as we have already learned, that talent will either be picked off by the bigger boys or will move on for the benefit of their own careers. We all may have been loyal fans since God was a lad, but our current full grounds could well become what we've all seen an experienced before - a midweek drizzling night game against the likes of Crewe with a gate of 17000 and thinking that's good.
We may not like it but it's now become the nature of the beast. Money is the only way forward in football and the only measure of success.....or we can just become a club that "was good at one time" Steve > On 24 Sep 2023, at 16:08, Robert Heath <[email protected]> wrote: > > Sadly I tend to agree............there is nothing really to look forward to > if we go back up except hoping flat track bullies like Salah & Harland > don't score too many against us as we struggle to keep our heads above > water again.
