Its a complete mess - but it seems that Rutter's release clause comes from the time of his original transfer - so another Orta legacy.

Its not really in line with the 49ers business model to make money out of the annual operation of the club - to be honest they are so rich spreading a few million of transfer profit around would make no difference to them.

The plan is to buy the club for £200m and then sell it in 5 years for £1bn.  To do that we need to be an established Premier League team with a new ground either built or in progress.

So i think they will reinvest the money in other players to get us up, though clearly going to be difficult to find anyone as good (and fun) as Rutter, Summerville, Gray who will play in the Championship.

Their communication could be a lot better but equally i'm not sure saying here's a list of players with release clauses is in our interests.

The board also appear to be of the belief that they can sell two, if not three (Rutter to go?) (and Gnonto?) of our best, young players and we can still challenge for promotion. Money before football. Killing us. Nick
