As it happens, we are staying up near Richmond in a remote village and there's been no gritting on our street.............our van is thoroughly iced in and looking at the forecast I don't see it being usable until Sunday at the earliest.......so it might be serendipitous that I didn't get a ticket!
If a thaw does occur before Saturday, I'll try your idea of a last minute season ticket grab.
