Well what a day. We ‘chose’ a good day to get to our first game for a while. Largely due to the kick off time, and being successful in the lottery known as the Members Sale.
Anyway I was feeling surprisingly confident before KO. As I said to my daughter - almost as confident as I was before the Derby game 5 years ago!! As a game it was pretty much done with by 20 mins in. What a performance! Can’t remember Leeds ever scoring 5 in the first half? possibly v Lyn Oslo in 1969?? Some of the goals were a bit obscured from by the subs warming up in the NW corner, but we didn’t care. It was interesting to see the expression on the subs faces. Joseph and Wöber looked resigned to the fact that they would not get on. Perhaps they will get game-time in the last couple. Burnley completed the job for us. I would really have preferred a draw, but it seems churlish to complain. I’m just going to enjoy the next week or 2, before I start worrying about next season, although I suspect my feelings will be closer to those of Alec, rather than Damian. It will be odd to go into the last couple of games with nothing really riding on them, but the team have deserved it, and well done to Farke for putting the team together after losing so manly influential players last summer.
