This is where I'm at too. I thought the rumours in the press about him getting sacked at the end of last season were very harsh and he deserved a chance to manage in the prem. I think though we are seeing his shortcomings. Very rigid in his approach, very stubborn and too slow to make changes / subs. Its usually reacting to something rather than being proactive. I think that the recruitment / tactics don't quite match up. We've signed a proper number 9 but keep passing it out from the back and seem reluctant to put the ball in the box. DCL has never been prolific , so rather than leaving him isolated why not play someone who is a better finisher closer to him to capitalise on the knock downs? We've signed two centre backs, one was left out initially, brought in and then dropped and we have yet to see the other one in the league. We don't have a creative player who can unlock defences so we need to find another approach. Playing DJ and putting lots of crosses in would seem like a sensible alternative.

Can’t see any way that Farke survives that. It is worth seeing if another manager can organise this team better, there does seem to be a disconnect between what we’ve bought and how we play and starting at home with only 2 attackers?? where are the goals supposed to come from? I am tired of seeing opposition managers change games with proactive subs, I have never seen Farke do that. Ending every game with a random bundle of attackers is embarrassing. So I think the best bet is changing the manager in time for the January window. I’m not saying it will work but it is worth a try. > On 24 Nov 2025, at 11:37, Damian Walsh <[email protected]> wrote: > > Normally I'm in line with Rob's take on the game but not this time.
