What a great result against the “always the victims it’s never your fault “
scouse b@stards
And what a great 4 days.
A week or so ago I was thinking 0-4(6) v Man City. , 0-3 v Chelsea and 0-3
today . No points , no goals and shipping a boatload in. Instead we beat city (
second half) batter Chelsea and score 3 and draw with the “ champions “ -
amazing
I have been pretty much on the fence re Farke - keep him /sack him I wasn’t
bothered either way BUT after this week I am 100% behind him . I don’t see how
any manager gets more out of this group of players than he does ? Wednesday was
amazing but in some ways this was better - a team giving it everything for the
shirt and the manager
Normally we are good at timing leaving the pub and getting in dead on kick off
, today that went wrong and ten minutes had gone before I got to my place ( I
was told we’d missed the only chance so far)
For the other 35 minutes we stood off Liverpool letting them play on front of
us without creating much ( one long shot hit the bar ) and 0-0at half time was
ok but it did feel like matter of time before they scored.
Cue us falling asleep at the start of the second half ( Villa and Chelsea
anyone ?) We allowed them an easy goal and two minutes later another soft goal
and game over ( just keep it to 3 or 4)Their fans , silent first half, lived up
to the “only sing when you’re winning “ mantra we know so well
But DF instead of settling for a defeat reacted to the scoreline and the sag it
was going with a triple sub - Tanaka , Aaronson and Gnonto coming on - Gnonto
won the pen to get us back in it , Aaronson the assist for the first equaliser
and Tanaka with the second equaliser that sent us home happy
After the subs we got at them and Gnonto was fouled in the box ( pointless from
their point of view as going nowhere) and DCL fired home . Stach fed by Brendy
beat a few inside the box and got the equaliser- game onWe thought it was all
to no avail when another poor defensive display allowed them to go 3-2 up but
in extra time Tanaka scored after they failed to clear a corner - pure bedlam
What a week
Dave
