We’d managed to get some tickets from some locals who had Scouse relatives.

Needless to say we were among the home supporters with Snooker Player John
Parrott and a few scally mates behind us.

They caught on we were Leeds fans bet seemed to be having a laugh and joke
about it all.

When Everton got their first goal, Parrot said something like ‘That’s it
Blues you’re back in it now’

My mate turned to him and said, ‘Nah John, they are so far behind they need
snookers’.

Luckily Leeds held on!

Other thing I remember about that day was that we got in the car to listen
to Sports Report and our game was summarised by Eleanor Oldroyd I think.

My mate look at me and said ‘Women reporting on football? What is the world
coming to’

Different times. 🫢
