Why the f don’t we learn and kick off on time - madness

Leeds United have been fined £530,000 for delaying kick-offs and restarts on
nine occasions in the Premier League this season.

The club has accepted the fines and apologised for the delays it has caused.

In a new sanction published on the competition’s website this week, Leeds and
the Premier League have agreed on bigger fines for future infringements, which
will only grow with each passing For example, delays of between one minute and
90 seconds to either half will result in a £100,000 fine. Delays of between 90
seconds and two minutes will see United fined £130,000, while anything beyond
two minutes will result in a £170,000 bill.

Further to those new baselines, each new violation will see increments of
£20,000 added to the bill. The most recent delay caused by Leeds came in the
home game with Fulham, when an 87-second wait for the second half resulted in a
£100,000 fine, plus an extra £20,000 as part of the cumulative sum the Premier
League is now adding.

The next violation, however long, will see £40,000 added to it, then £60,00 for
the next after that, so on and so forth. Penalties for delays up to
two-and-a-half minutes will be capped at £200,000 and £250,000 for anything
longer.
