The Irish certainly do hate "the Scotch", we much prefer Irish Whiskey, as for Scottish people, in my opinion Irish people (from both sides of the border), in general tend to get on very well with them.
Where are you from Damian? Might explain your somewhat "mixed up" views of the world.
