Richard et al, I am pleasantly surprised at the level of optimism after yesterday's performance. For my part I thought we were fortunate to gain a win against a very poor Coventry outfit. At this stage of the season its results that matter tho' so praise be for that. Lets not get carried away tho'.
After hearing Wise on Radio Leeds post match yesterday its pretty clear that he was down to the bare bones in terms of team selection and that is why he picked Marques. I don't care why he picked him but what a joy to see a Leeds central defender with composure on the ball and a bit of pace. Compare him with Foxe who gave away another goal yesterday and whose approach to defending high balls was to back off their centre forward and try to pick up his knock downs. Very poor. I wonder if Mr Wise is becoming lucky, all managers need it. His team selection contues to baffle. For most of the 2nd half we were under the cosh but Moore proved again a good outlet and was replaced far too early. Fact, Kandol is not only useless he is lazy and useless. I gather that Wise has secured Heath's services permenantly, very worrying, a centre half with no presence. With that eye for picking a player he will probably buy Kandol and that means we are really doomed. OK he had to change things when Richardson was injured but moving Elliott to centre-half? F*ck me he was asking for bother and we got it. Why not bring back Lewis and play him or Elliott at right back? It would have relieved pressure if he had possibly replaced Moore with Carole. The lad has pace and putting him up front would have meant that Coventry would have had to keep two at the back at least. The lad marking Kandol was smoking a cigar after this useless c*nt came on. The big difference yesterday was that against a big strong physical Coventry team Leeds rolled up their sleeves and battled from start to finish. For me that should be a given. on that basis I don't share other's ravings about Healy. Its about time this lazy little jumped up tw*t gave us a performance - lets see if it continues. Marques was brilliant & Sully was superb (Wise implied post-match that he was never cast aside but sent to Donny to sort himself out). Elliott, Lewis, Moore and Nicholl played well. Blake did well before having to go off too. There is a long way to go yet. Two big games coming up against Birmingham & WBA in the league. I'd take 3 points from those 2 games now.
