I bet you a million dollars that Bates would agree that local businesses get their dues instead of wasters like Ricketts, but those are the rules. There are only 2 lots of people to blame for this mess - the original board who overspent, and the HMRC who forced Bates into a corner by serving a winding up order. He either allowed the club to be shut down and sold off, or he went into admin and saved the club (and yes, his own financial interests no doubt) and stuck 2 fingers up at HMRC. Unfortunately the local businesses are collateral damage in this as they get lumped in with HMRC.

John, I would be more than happy to lobby my MP about the shambles that is Leeds United, the problem is - although I don't trust Bates, and fear that Elland Road is being lined up to be replaced by a super market - I don't know what questions to ask or how to phrase my indignation. Having seen a copy of the list of creditors from KPMG - I do think it's disgusting how many local charities, businesses, and schools (!) are not going to a penny, while Ricketts et al are going to get paid up due to the law about football debts being settled. In part I think I have answered my own question - but where do you suggest I start if I want to complain to my MP? Furthermore - What will happen to Leeds if Bates gets his way? And what will happen if he doesn't?
