And what did Bates say last week when you asked him face to face? I am only putting the trust 'in the spot' so we all know what you are actually proposing to do - you don't have to tell us of course.
As you didn't want Bates to win, and you yourselves didn't bid, who did you want to win? Anyone in particular or anyone but Bates? As for the post administration situation, are you telling me that you did not either expect or plan for this scenario, when all along it was the most likely outcome, unless you were pinning your hopes on some link being found between Bates and the other creditors? I find that astounding personally, if you (LUST) had a potential vested interest in the outcome of the vote which certainly seemed to be the case. Of course the price wont have gone down, it would have gone up I expect, which was one of the reasons I thought you (LUST) may have been hoping for him to lose the vote. But you haven't said if that is the case or not. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of RickD Sent: 04 June 2007 15:17 To: leedslist Subject: Re: [LU] Bates and CVA ----- Original Message ----- > And the reason you wouldn't be serious bidders after administration is...? The Trust were serious bidders prior to administration. The Trust did not take part in the attempts to buy the club out of administration in the sense that no indicative offer was made to KPMG. Given the results of that process perhaps you might now be gracious enough to consider that the Trust may have more business acumen than you have previously given it credit for. I suppose not, but the point is there nevertheless. In your rush to put the Trust on the spot you have neglected the fact that the Trust has not said what you have assumed. No mention has been made about bidding or not bidding in the post administration situation. I suppose that given that the post administration situation is now nearly four or five hours old the Trust really should have made its position more clear to you without this intolerable delay. No need at all to give Trust members time to gather their thoughts when the pressing need to keep you informed is at stake. Are you a Trust member by the way ?You have ignored the fact that Mr Bates has clearly stated that he is looking for investers not take -overs and that itself would appear to preclude bidding post administration. Lastly you appear to have far more knowledge of what the post administration position is going to be than is enjoyed by the Trust. > As a potential buyer what impact does the fact the club no longer has huge > debts hanging over it have for you? There are many complex assumptions made in order to ask this question. We were dealing with the historical position as it was and in future will deal with the current position as it is. As a potential buyer (and nobody is saying that the Trust is or isn't, except for yourself) it is the total price to be paid which is the relevant figure. Do you imagine that the buy-out price of this club, assuming for an instant that there even is such a figure, has suddenly become lower ? Why ? Please explain ? > Was Bates ever looking to sell the club, or was he looking for investment? > Is that now likely to have changed? This depends upon WHEN you are asking about. It is too soon to tell if it has changed but feel free to guess away. Certainly the Trust took the opportunity last week to ask Mr Bates questions (face to face) around this topic. _______________________________________________ the Leeds List is an unmoderated mailing list and the list administrators accept no liability for the personal views and opinions of contributors.
