Oh I remember, he never intended to pay the debt, LUFC weren't really strapped for cash, he knew HMRC would issue a winding up order so he therefore had the excuse to go into admin. He then made sure he got a sympathetic/corrupt administrator who agreed his was the best offer for the club following the other bids. Did HMRC issue a winding up order or not? It is a pity they didn't ask for your sage advice before doing so as you would have let them know the master plan and they wouldn't have issued the winding up order. It appears that full credit is due to HMRC for the situation where the previous owners of the club are the same as the new owners of the club and they have luckily got rid of nearly all their debt. All this at no cost to themselves. What you say - how is it at no cost to themselves ? Well think about it. The money they have supposedly lost was money that they had already spent. It was spent anyway. The other creditors have lost their money but the new owners of the club still have the club that they paid their money for. Nothing has been lost by them because what they bought and paid for is still in their hands. All of it. How lucky is that ? How churlish to attack HMRC who are the very people who made it all possible. It is just another way of getting other people to pay for things for you. The unpaid creditors have been paying the running costs of the club. Some people will believe anything.
