Get out of here! Terry Yorath was a 24 carat hero for Leeds United. Did you hear the way The Don spoke about him on that Clough-Revie thing? Yorath's only fault was that he wasn't as good as Bremner or Giles, but then who was? He slotted into the side in any position and was a key contributor to the Glory Years. I used to get so angry back then at the know-nothing halfwits in the crowd who used to give him stick.
Rob Heath Bangkok Khow P.S. Sorry, I haven't been following the shitarse XI debate too closely, but if no one has already I would like to nominate Neil Aspin, or Aspirin as I used to call him cos it gave me a headache to watch him play. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of rhys hodge Sent: Thursday, September 27, 2007 8:58 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [LU] Shite 11 To me Terry Yorath is one who fits into the either brilliant or shite spectrum, he did have some shockers, but could equally be brilliant. Like Kevin Hird to me he also gave it everything. ----- Original Message ---- From: Richard Walker <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Steve Gillen <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [email protected] Sent: Thursday, 27 September, 2007 4:10:42 AM Subject: Re: [LU] Shite 11 Vinny was a strange cookie. He came with a reputation as a hard tackler and not much of a footballer. I actually found him to be a better footballer than most people thought but he lacked pace and acceleration which made him a relatively poor covering / tackling player. Surprising but true. In truth he wasn't up to much and was carried by the brilliance around him - Strachan . Speed and co. I'll never forget his debut though at home to Boro when he came running on like a madman with 5 mins to go when it was 1-1. We won 2-1. --- Steve Gillen <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > I'd be seriously tempted to put Vinny in there, but > I can't in all > honesty call him shite, just sometimes not as good > as he ought to have > been - and at the other end, not brilliant either > but occasionally very > very good indeed. > > As a motivator and general "lets get this done lads" > worker though he > had no equal > > Steve > > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On > Behalf Of > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: 26 September 2007 16:52 > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: [LU] Shite 11 > > Which highlights the fact that we really need > another list:?
