Glad to say that I didn't get the book. I got far more satisfying presents, like the DVD of Bill Forsyth's Comfort and Joy and the Simpsons movie... I remember attending the Plc AGMs, the Woodgate transfer press conference and one of Ridsdale's "meet the fans" sessions. Events have shown that on each of these occasions Ridsdale was less than truthful. My own hall of shame includes (in no particular order): O'Leary (for hubris in the face of tactical and personal naivete) Leighton (for taking his eye off the ball for two years) Ridsdale (for hubris and greed full stop) Venables (for hubris instead of working with what he had) The Prof (for so blatantly feeding at the trough) The PLC auditors (for ignoring shareholder interests) I found my LUFC share certificate the other day and will keep this as a permanent memento (or even momento mori) of how not to run a business. Found it surprisingly interesting and, call me naive and impressionable if you like, but also quite convincing. i have always thought that it was all too easy the way he was demonised and all the blame was heaped solely at his door...............and I also always thought that the fact that he was Leeds through and through was enough to give him a lot of benefit of the doubt. Having read it, my Shitlist of true villains who should be lined up and shot for Crimes Against Leeds United is: 1. O'Leary 2. Weaselface Bowyer 3. Venables Rob Heath Bangkok Khow _______________________________________________ the Leeds List is an unmoderated mailing list and the list administrators accept no liability for the personal views and opinions of contributors.
