when they put the lid on the Kop, they dug down so far that the front
terraces were well below pitch level. Before the building work the terraces
were at the same level as the Lowfields terrace and the lower rows of the
West Stand. The paddock was also sunk below pitch level. Can't comment on
the Shed cos I was far too young to venture in there.
Before my time of course, I am only going from old pictures :-))
