A Club Statement from Blackpool FC on Mon 22 Dec 2008 said:
"FOLLOWING widespread media speculation surrounding Leeds United's
interest in Simon Grayson, the club can confirm Leeds United have
approached the club in respect of its manager and the approach to speak
to Simon and or his representatives has been firmly rejected. The club
will be making no further comment at this stage."
Leeds United however announce that they have appointed said Mr Grayson
as their new manager.
On the 23rd of December at 8.30 Grayson tenders his resignation at
Blackpool which is rejected as he is still under contraqct to Blackpool
for a further 18 months.
Leeds United issue a statement which says:
"Simon Grayson has been appointed the new manager of Leeds United."
These are the facts.
Now whatever goes on behind closed doors and in private on the telephone
you would think that Leeds Board and the Blackpool Board might just be
professional enough to handle this without any doubt, with transparency
and in the best interests of all concerned.
Bates and his ilk are key in all this and that's why I say they should
all get the fuck out of football and back onto the market stalls where
they so obviously would prosper.
Or am I wrong and is the footballing world full of people who couldn't
really organise a piss up in a brewery.
Someone asked who I would like to run Leeds United - well I think
today's episode shows who I wouldn't like to run it.
Please, just one honest, straight forward, credible man (or woman).
And for all those of you who think our current league position is as the
result of good management by the current board I say how on earth do you
get dressed in a morning?
Anyone remeber the feeling they had one crisp December boxing day
morning when we took on the shite from over the hill? Can you honestly
say you are getting that same feeling from the current setup?
