Some highly significant games in that list...

       1956 -                    Hull City (A) 4 - 1
Before my time, but I'm told that 15,000 Leeds fans travelled to Hull for the
game when Leeds won promotion, so that John Charles could grace the old first
division.

       1962 -             Newcastle United (A) 3 - 0
Again before my time, but the Revie team needed a result on the final day to
ensure they didn't go down to the old third division. Arguably the most
important Leeds game of all time, as the whole history of the club could have
been so different...

       1969 -                    Liverpool (A) 0 - 0
The draw we needed to win the Championship, and we did of course get an ovation
from the Anfield Kop.

       1975 -            Tottenham Hotspur (A) 2 - 4
A win at White Hart Lane would have sent Spurs down, but unfortunately we
didn't get it, and Luton went down instead.

       1984 -                      Chelsea (A) 0 - 5
My first visit to Stamford Bridge, and not the best time to go to a game with a
steaming hangover. Chelsea clinched promotion as they shredded the Leeds
defence, and we did the same to their scoreboard. The large Leeds contingent in
the crowd were kept behind for ages and amused themselves by throwing rocks at
the Chelsea fans and the police.

       1990 -               Leicester City (H) 2 - 1
Promotion seemed to be slipping away, until Gordon Strachan's great goal four
minutes from time. Cue for a good natured pitch invasion at the end, and
rumours that we'd gone up because of results elsewhere. We hadn't of course,
and that would have to wait until the following week at Bournemouth.

       2007 -                 Ipswich Town (H) 1 - 1
Oh dear. A late Ipswich goal sent us down to the third tier for the first time
in our history, cue a rather less friendly pitch invasion. It doesn't get much
worse than this.
