If a club goes bust before the end of the play-offs, then their placed in the
FL
will be taken by another club, one assumes one less would go down to League Two
and one less down to the Conference, but if a club goes under after the
play-offs, then they wouldn't be replaced in the FL. In this case, I'd assume
there would be some shuffling of the pack so it was the bottom Division that
operated with an odd number. When the Premier League dropped to 20 clubs, the
FL
went on record as saying it was their long-term ambition to reduce the number
of
clubs in the remaining three Divisions, but this would be done by natural
wastage, and not through increased relegation to the Conference.
