Whether you think the Scouse game was abject defeat or glorious failure or
somewhere in between  what is not in doubt is that in the great scheme of
things it was totally unimportant and now we face our biggest game of the
season so far.
It is the first game we have after a defeat, the first against genuine
contenders and the first in a very hard few weeks.
Last year it proved to be the end for Macca when within 10mins all our
defensive frailties of the time were exposed and we were 2 - 0 down. A cracker
from Snoddy gave us some hope but hope that was soon dashed as yet another
cross found an unmarked \ unchallenged forward to head home against us.
I very much doubt that it will be as easy for them this time around.
Grayson also has a couple of decisions to make selection wise which may give
the players an idea of where they all stand.
Assuming we go 4 4 2 then Higgs, Hughes, Kisnorbo, the midfield 4, and front 2
(Becchio needing a goal though) pick themselves I would have thought. But what
does he do with Lubo, Bromby , Naylor and Crowe ?
Lubo has come in and looked the player he used to be, Crowe has done Ok but has
been carrying a knock and has looked shaky defensively on occasion, Bromby is
the only (?) player Grayson has paid cash for - is he just a centre back or
also a genuine right back option ? Naylor the club and team captain has now
played 60mins (clean sheet) v Boro and a full game v Scunthorpe* (conceded a
stupid pen given away by Robbo) - too soon to risk him ?

Will be interesting

* Just watched the highlights on LUTV - hat trick each for Enoch and Kandol
against very very poor defending and goal keeping
