Fair enuff, I s'pose Betty Said Profligate rather than Illegal, but I was about the money that was deemed illegitimate, since surely that is what is wrong. Do you begrudge them the legitimate expenses - which most often require them to live away from their family home and constituency - seems a bit harsh. These are the people we want to run the country for us! Paying them 50 times less than a bench warmer at Pompey seems a bit obtuse. In order to ensure anyone, other than nutters and rich bastards are able to do the job, lets pay them bigger salaries & a clearly defined expenses structure.
