Verner's recollection of watching the '73 FA Cup Final on TV (colour in 1973?! You rich snob!!), got me thinking about the earliest game I can clearly recall watching. I do remember the '71 FA Cup Final occurring, since my mum was an Arsenal fan and my dad a Liverpool fan, but I don't recall anything of the game.
The earliest match I can truly remember was the '74 World Cup Final, where I was rooting for Holland. It all ended in tears. The first match I ever saw was on my Grandma's Bush tele which was in a huge case with a screen about 10 inches square. It was the first television to arrive in Addingham.
