Dear friends,
I am currently in a play on at the Brunswick Mechanics Institute titled
Love an Investigation.
Which commenced on the 19th November and Ends Friday 4th December.
A comrade did promise me that he would let left link know about the
play... but as I look around no a word about us.
Anyway enough of that but this play comes from 27 women from diverse
ages and cultural backgrounds, investigating love. how it operates in
their lives, the connections, differences and similarities.
Now you may think love what a boring subject... or only think of lover
love...
But I assure you this is stuff that comes from the heart, it that comes
from experiences of women from Chile, El Salvador, Vietnam and
Bangladesh to name a few.
One of the stories is the epxeirence and love felt at Swanston Dock MUA
picket line.... solidarity with people, and fighting the good fight...
The play came out of the women meeting and telling about their
experiences. Catherine Simmonds the Director, has for the
last nine months pulled us all through it, Ciria Lagoia - wrote the
script and Irene Vela and Kavisha Mazella are the musicians attached to
this wonderful performance piece.
Have I said enough, don't want to hit you with too much info but really
friends this is something really special and we'd like to have you all
there...
I do hope that you can attend or pass this message onto a worthwhile
site...cause this play will give you strength to keep the good fight
going...
So with loving fingers here is the bookings number:: 9388 1460...tickets
kept low so the community can attend $12 or $6 concession. Bookings over
10 people $6 per ticket.
Performances are Wed, Thurs, Frid, Sat and Sunday Matinees..... don't
leave it till late
