Stop the U.S. Bombing of Iraq!

Today President Clinton bombed the people of Baghdad and went on
television
to justify it, claiming that while many world powers have weapons
of mass
destruction, only Iraq has used them and will use them again in
the future.

What a blatant lie! Only the U.S. ever dropped an H-bomb on
inhabited
cities--Nagasaki and Hiroshima-- killing tens of thousands of
people!

Logic, however, has nothing to do with this latest bloodbath in
the Middle
East. In a desperate attempt to force national attention off the
impeachment
process and to strongarm Congress into uniting behind him in
foreign
affairs, Clinton is dragging the Iraqi people through another
holocaust that
will further destroy the countrys weakened infrastructure and
injure and
maim countless people who have few medical supplies and little
food. All to
save his own skin!

This despicable and self-serving act of war must be protested by
all who
believe in the right of other nations to self-determination. The
U.S. has no
right to decide by force who shall lead Iraq or what the countrys
policies
shall be. Only the Iraqi people have the right to make those
decisions.

The U.S. armed Saddam Hussein and used him to try and overthrow
the Iranian
Revolution. When he killed a whole generation of young men in the
war
against Iran, abused his own people, suppressed the Kurds and
Leftists, the
U.S. could have cared less. Only when he challenged U.S. hegemony
and oil
interests in the Middle East did Saddam Hussein become a problem
for this
countrys ruling elite. This is their war, not ours.

As working people, we stand in solidarity with the men, women and
children
of Iraq who have suffered for so long because of our governments
policies.
Let your voice be heard! Speak out against the bombing now!
