The traditional owners of Jabiluka, the Mirrar, are unequivocally opposed to the mine. The United Nations World Heritage Delegation to Kakadu has stated the mine is a threat to Mirrar culture and the Kakadu country. ERA has committed to opening a mine at Jabiluka. It has made it perfectly clear that it does not care about opposition from the Mirrar People. To these profiteers, financial gain is more important than human rights.
