Resistance has called a Rally against Carr's new laws which will give
police even more power to harass young people. Those not in school are
required to have a permission card - police will be entitled to demand to
see this card, and, if it not produced, will be able to throw young people
in paddy wagons to 'escort' them back to school, or home.

A particularly venomous way this law could be used, would be to round up
high school students taking political action, such as the tremendous High
School Walkouts against Racism organised by Resistance last year.

Say no to the Law and Order Auction - Real solutions to social problems,
not scapegoating!
No to increased police powers!
No to victimisation of migrants and Aborigines!

RALLY AT SYDNEY TOWN HALL
2pm Saturday February 13
Speakers include:
Tim Anderson, secretary of the NSW Council for Civil Liberties (and no
stranger to police harassment)
Bev Barker, Parents and Citizens Association
plus Resistance high school students, migrant and Aboriginal activists.
