Just a short note to let people know that GRASSLANDS GROCERY &
INFORMATION CAFE has finally opened its doors.
What follows is a little information about what were about. Please
distribute to others who may be interested.
We aim to fund innovative social projects through the sale of food,
personal & household goods and information which are ecologically
sound, socially responsible, good for ones health and affordable.
We are a non profit enterprise operated by a collective of people who
are committed to social justice and accordingly give their time free of
charge.
The shop is a little bare at the moment but over the coming weeks we
will fill the voids with a number of products and services, including:
a wide range of certified organic and biodynamic fresh fruit &
vegetables, dried fruits, flours, grains & legumes, beans, herbs &
spices, teas & coffees, oils, pastas, sea vegetables and other
foods;
vegetable soaps, tooth brushes and other personal goods;
naturally low allergenic household cleaners and paints;
an infoshop stocking books, pamphlets, videos and music with an emphasis
on social justice issues;
free public library with internet access and training.
We will also run a little differently to most other stores in that we
will encourage customers to bring their own containers and bags to shop
with. Those that forget will have to pay for the containers we provide.
There will always be a member of the operating collective around so
please feel free to ask them any questions you may have about us or the
products we sell.
