Hi,
I'm Robert, a spokesperson for 'Monbulk Geen Heart Group'.
We are a body set up to save the last block of remnant indigenous bush in
the main street of Monbulk, in the Dandenongs.
The land is about to be bulldozed by Safeway any day now, and we are
desperately trying to get publicity over this ridicule of putting a service
station on such a priceless block of land.
It is a living memory of what the Town used to look like.
The Shire of Yarra Ranges voted unanimously against Safeway's proposal, but
of course the one man VCAT (who by the way, previously worked for Safeway
regarding legal matters - Mr Peter O'Leary) said 'yes'.
NEXT FRIDAY 19 MARCH at 10 AM is the planned rally.
We desperately need supporters to enable us to get a good TV press release
happening.
If we dont then it's goodbye to 100 Messmate Stringybark trees, along with
the Hickory wattles, grasses etc.
The rally will be on the block which is opposite Safeway in the main street
of Monbulk.
People can get the train to Belgrave and be picked up there if needed.
Other arrangements can be worked out.
Please respond to our plea. We don't want the image and flora and fauna of
Monbulk to be wiped out for good.
