Multiplex has begun to fence off the site for construction of the
Hockey/Gridiron and Netball stadiums in Royal Park. Please meet at 7.30am
tomorrow, Tuesday 30 March at north entrance to Zoo, near Royal Park
Railway Station, to join community picket.
There are many alternatives sites (eg Docklands, Fishermen's bend,
Showgrounds, Waverley Park). There is also plenty of time: the Commonwealth
Games are not until 2006.
There has been no consultation with community or relevant unions and no
environmental impact assessment.
