We-the-women is national email list of the new
AUSTRALIAN WOMEN'S CONSTITUTIONAL NETWORK.
We-the-women is a place for women to discuss, network and promote
awareness of issues relevant to women and issues which women wish to
press in relation to the Australian Constitution.
The key issue at present is the Prime Minister's draft preamble to the
Constitution. http//www.pm.gov.au/media/pressrel/1999/preamble.htm
More broadly, and over time the list will also focus on the Republic and other
Constitutional reforms.
The AWCN aims to promote the outcomes of the Women's Constitutional
Convention and women's vigorous participation in Australian Constitutional
development. You can read the outcomes of the WCC on the web at
http//www.womensconv.dynamite.com.au/
In Stage 2 additional email lists will be established. This will include a
list for
discussion and networking on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander issues.
The Steering Committee welcomes expressions of interest from Aboriginal
and Torres Strait Islander women to provide a sounding board for the
establishment of the list please. Email [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Read our web site for information about Stage 3.
