Siri has been at the frontline of the struggle for 25 years for workers rights and human rights in Sri Lanka. He is an advocate of the rights of the Tamil people to self determination and a homeland. Over the years he has been gaoled 5 times because of his principles. He has had to live in hiding for lengthy periods and faced death threats from right wing forces. He is currently active in organising amongst tea plantation workers who are some of the most exploited and opressed workers in the world.
