CHANNEL 31 IS STILL ON AIR

We now have a chance to survive
MORE PLEDGES STILL NEEDED!

"Melbourne wants Community TV" - this is the message sent by the thousands
of people who've called in to pledge their support so far. The initial
campaign target of $250,000 is in sight, with $125,000 already pledged.

Footy fans, students, members of ethnic communities, musicians, comedians,
and many others have shown that they believe in television controlled by
the community. Fish-fanciers have responded to the sign posted on 31's
famous fishtank - "PAY UP - OR THE FISH GET IT" - by contributing to
the campaign to save the station.

"The community support for Channel 31 has been overwhelming," said David
Johnston-Bell, Channel 31 Secretary. "However, we still need another
$75,000 to reach our reserve target of $200,000. Right now it is crucial
to consolidate the faith that Melbourne has shown in the survival of
Channel 31. We're calling on our supporters who haven't yet made a pledge
to call now. The next few days could make the difference."

Another 400 pledges of $200 each will save channel 31. Any amount over $2
is tax deductable.

When we reach the immediate reserve target of $200,000 the pledges will be
called in, and the station will survive in the short term. However Channel
31 is also seeking re-financing of a further $250,000 from investors to
meet our mid term needs.

The Pledge campaign, re-financing and other fundraising must all succeed to
reach the immediate and mid-term targets to guarantee the future of the
station.
