The NATIONAL CENTRE FOR HUMAN RIGHTS IN MENTAL HEALTH, Australia's first
and only totally independent, groundbreaking mental health human rights
centre, is running it's first ever Human Rights Advocate Training
Course.

promote and protect the human rights of people?
-> Want to expose and stop human rights abuses in the
mental health system?
-> Want to help people reclaim their freedom, hope and
human rights?
THEN APPLY TO BECOME A HUMAN RIGHTS ADVOCATE
As a volunteer human rights advocate you will get the rare and special
chance to do a wide range of cutting edge human rights work including:
representing people before the Mental Health Review Board and
Guardianship and Administration Board, investigating human rights abuses
in psychiatric hospitals, help run the centres human rights services,
facilitate human rights education programs, engage in radical policy and
law reform and develop pojects and campaigns that you have a passion
for.
We also warmly encourage people who have had direct experience of the
mental health system and people whose first language is not english to
apply to become an advocate.
THe Human Rights Advocate Training Course will run for 16 weeks
beginning on the 21st August 1999.
