Message to all groups.
The ACTU wiil be conducting a day of solidarity on East Timor for Thursday
May the 27th. There will be actions held by union groups on this particular
day and further details will be posted when finalised.
Marches will be held in Melbourne and Sydney beginning at 1.00pm. Those
present at the ACTU meeting endorse the project, this included Australians
For a Free East Timor and ACFOA. There was a phone hook up to Sydney and I
beleive the groups in Sydney including CNRT endorsed the project.
Also present at the meeting in Melbourne as an obserever was Manuel Gusmao,
a brother of Xanana.
There will be another meeting next Monday (24/5/99).
I am uncertain about the phone hook up facilities at the ACTU, but anybody
wanting to participate could contact Allen Matherson 03-96635266.
