DOCS Disability Services
PUBLIC RALLY OUTSIDE NSW PARLIAMENT
Date: 26 July 1999
Author: Public Service Association of NSW

As part of the continuing campaign to prevent privatisation of group homes,
i.e. the houses run by the Department of Community Services for people
with disabilities, the Public Service Association, People with Disabilities,
NSW Council for Intellectual Disability, and the Statewide
Disability Coalition are organising a PUBLIC RALLY.

The rally will assemble at HYDE PARK, Sydney (near St James Station)
at 11.30 am, TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 7.

At about NOON everyone will march to PARLIAMENT HOUSE.

September 7 is the first day of the new session of Parliament.

We expect members from Disability Services and people from welfare and
community groups to turn out in force.

The NSW Government's decision to privatise DOCS' Group Homes
without prior consultation with families, welfare people and the union
and its members shows a total disregard by the
Government for people with disabilities, their families and carers.

Show the politicians that you care about the welfare of the most vulnerable
citizens of New South Wales.

If you work in the vicinity, put this date in your diary.
