The Australian String Quartet will perform a benefit concert for the Free
Timor Coalition.
Where: CUB Malthouse, 113 Stuart St, Southbank
When: Thursday 7 October at 8pm
Cost: $25 or $20 concession

Funds will be used to redevelop the infrastructure, including water
supplies ands communications, that have been destroyed by the Indonesian
government controlled militia.
Money raised will go to a range of projects run by respected aid agencies
on the advice of the Council for Timorese Resistance (CNRT) led by Xanana
Gusmao.
The programme will include:
Purcell, Chaconi in G Minor
Beethoven, String Quartet No 3 in D, Opus 18 No3
Benjamin Britten, String Quartet No 2 in C, Opus 36
and a piano performance by Elyanne Laussade
The programme will be introduced by Russell Smith playing didgeridoo.
As the focus moves from peace keeping to rebuilding, it is time for the
Australian community to assist with money, materials and technical expertise.
