Every trade union website should be updated frequently but we know that many aren't. Sometimes the people in charge of those sites just don't have the time to maintain a steady flow of current news. Many of you have found LabourStart to be an effective way of following labour news in your country and around the world. The news is now collected by a network of some three dozen correspondents on every continent plus those who add stories through our new Labour News Network -- open to all activists. Today we're pleased to announce another major improvement -- a script which allows any website to include a news feed from LabourStart which is dynamically updated and can be extensively customized. You can show 5, 10 or however many news links you want, selecting news only from your country or from around the globe. And once you've set it up, you're done. Your website will always show the latest news -- automatically. Previously this was a service only available from the mainstream wire services like Reuters and AP and cost a lot of money. LabourStart is pleased to offer this service free of charge. Now no labour website has an excuse for remaining a static online brochure when it can actually provide members with the very latest news. To download the script and instructions for how to set it up in your web host's cgi-bin, go here: http://www.webarchitects.co.uk/scripts/getlabourstart/ Once you've downloaded it, get help in installing the script from the new web forum set up specifically for this purpose: http://www.webarchitects.co.uk/scripts/UltraBoard/UltraBoard.pl Finally, when you succeed in getting the script up and running, let us know by adding your site to the growing list of those who've included a LabourStart news feed: http://www.webarchitects.co.uk/links/Scripts_in_Action/getlabourstart/ The script was written by Chris Croome of Webarchitects and we'd like to thank him for doing a superb job. Questions, comments and suggestions for improvements should be sent directly to him -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] or, preferably, through the web forum mentioned above.
