For info....
I have participated on this in the past and can recommend it highly. 4
weeks, all food, accommodation, entrance fees, lectures, and internal
travel for approx $A500 per week.

This mailing is to everybody who has expressed interest in participating on
a Moscow study trip or who has indicated the possibility of identifying
potential participants.

I am setting tentative dates for 2000 and need to know their suitability
and your intentions.

With the presidential campaign in its homestretch and the country emerging
from, or mired in, the second war in Chechnya, spring/summer 2000 will be a
crucial time to study Russia first-hand. I would like to know your
availability for the following dates:

Four weeks departing May
/_/ May 06-June 05
The earlier departure will alow us to be present for the 55th anniversary of
the victory in World War 2, an event you will not forget.
Three/four weeks departing June
/_/ June 17-July 09 (3)
/_/ June 17-July 16 (4)
/_/ June 24-July 16 (3)

I'd like teachers to be able to come, but I need to know when terms are
ending in 2000. Staying beyond mid-July isn't practical because of the
vacation schedules in Russia.

It is possible that inflation will not have caught up with the August 1998
ruble devaluation and that the cost for 4 weeks can be kept to
US$1600-1800, according to group size, plus air fare.

NOTE: Last year I spent many months trying to obtain decisions from people.
It was a poor use of time that also kept our Moscow hosts hanging. I don't
wish to repeat it. That's why I am starting later and must know sooner
whether the groups will form or the effort should be abandoned. Thank you
for your cooperation.
